General Directions
General Directions:
Direct Seeding:
Use a Gandy applicator or a similar applicator to place dry MagnaVerno directly on top of the seed. Apply 4 to 20 pounds ( average 10 pounds ) of MagnaVerno per acre depending on type of crop, row spacing and soil conditions. do not band directly with fertilizer, fungicides or insecticides. Offset banding of the materials is acceptable as long as they do not come in direct contact with MagnaVerno.
Fertilization, Fungicides and Insecticides:
For best results. use lower analysis gradual release fertilizers. Fast acting fertilizers (especially P) can harm fungi. Avoid the use of semi drench or systemic fungicides, although contact type fungicides are not generally harmful. Insecticides and herbicides that do not kill the host plant are generally not harmful to MagnaVerno’s beneficial inoculants.
Transplants:
If using a watering device on the transplanter, a positive displacement pump (such as a John Blue squeeze pump) can be used to inject the gel solution into the transparent hole.
Preparation formula for gel: 1/2 cup of MagnaVerno per 3 gallons of water or 4 lbs of MagnaVerno to 25 gallons of water. The end product should be a gel almost as thick as Jello, but not as tasty.
If hand dipping roots prior to transplant, use half of the above recommendation. The consistency should be similar to thin to medium gravy, once again, less tasty.
If spraying roots prior to transplanting, use the same concentration as hand dipping. Be sure to remove screens from application to prevent clogging.
Seeding Trays: Mix MagnaVerno with potting mix at the rate of 2 1/2 lb. per cubic yard of potting mix.
STORE IN A COOL, DRY, SHADED PLACE. DO NOT ALLOW TO GET WET, HOT OR TO FREEZE.
